The same 3-axis controller using the power of Autodesk 360 generative design features.
This controller has all of the features of the previous controller at 56% reduced weight. This project is still in concept stages.

This is the concept is the result of her specifications.

monkey ball feeder front.JPG

“Monkey Enrichment Device Concept”, designed for Macaque monkeys at the Indianapolis Zoo. Designed to be 3-d printed in parts made of ABS and flexible filament, and to be assembled by end-users with minimal off the shelf hardware.

Flexible filaments provide the retaining ability to hold the “fruit simulation device” to the ring feeder which is hung with a standard carabiner-clip. Stock neodymium magnet assemblies and a small washer inserted into the top of each feeder ball provide simulated resistance to the monkeys attempting to retrieve the fruit emulate naturally growing plants.

Each ball is filled with a small amount of 3-d printed shapes and food. This causes the monkeys to further problem solve and stimulate their natural foraging behaviors.
